Project Manager, Equipment Planning

Description

Maia Consulting is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Manager to lead the medical equipment planning, procurement, and installation process for hospital construction and renovation projects nationwide.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, confident communicator, and proactive problem solver who thrives in complex project environments and can lead both clients and internal teams through all phases of equipment planning.

Responsibilities
  • Lead multiple large-scale healthcare projects from planning through installation.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of Project Coordinators throughout the project lifecycle, providing guidance, reviewing their work for accuracy, and identifying potential errors or process improvements.
  • Facilitate and lead medical equipment user group meetings with clients and clinical stakeholders.
  • Conduct value analyses and recommend equipment selections based on functionality, cost, and client standards.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive medical equipment lists and budgets.
  • Coordinate medical equipment placement within Autodesk Revit.
  • Prepare, assemble, and manage medical equipment specifications.
  • Gather and review vendor drawings and technical submittals.
  • Obtain and evaluate final vendor quotes; prepare procurement and installation documentation.
  • Oversee delivery logistics, site readiness, and equipment installation activities.
  • Travel to client sites to provide project oversight and ensure successful project delivery.
Qualifications
  • 3–5+ years of professional experience in medical equipment planning (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, healthcare design, or business (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of hospital and clinical department functions.
  • Deep knowledge of the architectural design and construction process.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with clients, vendors, and project teams.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently from a home office with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Attainia, Bluebeam, Autodesk Revit, and BIM 360 (preferred).
  • Ability to travel to client sites within the United States as needed (up to 25–40%).
