Employee Spotlight: Kate Hollowell

December 6, 2022 By Cameron Graber

Employee Spotlight - Kate Hollowell

This installment of the Maia employee spotlight is showcasing Kate Hollowell. Kate has been a part of the medical equipment planning field for just over a year now. She is a Project Manager here at Maia, working directly with of our Project Coordinators and clients.

When did you join Maia and what made you join?

I joined Maia in November of 2021 after previously working at Attainia on the Catalog team. While working at Attainia, I developed an interest in how planners used the software in their jobs. I was also always curious how that equipment would later be used by the end users. I found Maia because I wanted to be involved in projects that would help people more directly in healthcare.

What is your favorite aspect of Maia?

I enjoy working for a smaller company that values curiosity and development. We work on all phases of the project, so I am constantly learning new aspects of the field. Every day brings a new task which I get to learn how to problem solve and complete for our clients. I also appreciate the close connection we have as a team and getting to learn under team members and their years of experience.

What are some of your personal hobbies?

When I am not working, I enjoy playing games/sports of any kind. I also love going on hikes with my dogs and trying new restaurants around the Denver metro.

What is your favorite part of medical equipment planning and do you have a favorite project you have worked on as of yet?

Being newer to equipment planning – I would say a renovation project for multiple endoscopy suites at AdventHealth in Florida. This was my first project, and I have learned so much from each phase of it. I am excited to see this project complete at the end of this year and start serving its first patients!

Why do you think medical equipment planning is important?

Medical equipment planning is important because the required equipment is a vital component for the clinicals teams in helping patients. Being able to plan and coordinate how this equipment will be used in the most efficient manner has provided me with a lot of insight into the end-user needs. It has also challenged me to be thoughtful and create unique ways to help provide the best customer experience for patients and clinicians.

Kate continues to provide unique insights into the company while also constantly learning from the expertise of the rest of the team! Check back in two weeks to hear from our other Project Coordinator, Cameron Graber!
